| Impotence treatments are effective but not your only hope |
Experts are now arguing that the fact you suffer with erectile dysfunction does not ergo that Viagra Sildenafil Citrate, Cialis tadalafil or Levitra Vardenafil is the answer. Although the larger majority of cases can be treated with these three treatments, many sufferers fail to recognise that the condition can often occur as the result of other factors aside from blood flow and penile damage. Low testosterone levels are also big causes of impotence, as are psychological problems and stress. Testosterone is an integral part of the erectile process and it is responsible for the production of nitric oxide. This is needed for the blood vessels to expand. Your health care provider will tell you that it is a good idea to get your testosterone levels checked in order to rule this out as a cause. There are a number of misconceptions concerning erectile dysfunction, including the fact that it isn’t a common condition. Despite what we see on the big screen and the media, we aren’t all pumped up and ready for action and a large proportion of us will suffer with some form of erectile dysfunction at some stage in our lives. Simply stressing out about one particular sexual encounter can lead to a loss of an erection as can being presented with sexually confident women. The truth of the matter is, although the treatments out there are highly effective and clinically proven, it is perhaps best to discuss the issue with a trained expert before beginning one. |

| Emotional Eating and Obesity |
So what is Emotional Eating really all about? The following report includes some fascinating information about Emotional Eating--info you can use, not just the old stuff they used to tell you.
You can see that there's practical value in learning more about Emotional Eating. Can you think of ways to apply what's been covered so far?
Sandra found her weight ballooning 60 pounds after her separation from her husband. While part of the weight gain was apparently tied to the medication she was taking, the rest appeared to be the result of what can be described as emotional eating. In recent years, greater attention has been focused on the problem of emotional eating for both women and men. In fact, some experts have gone so far as to claim that most weight gain can be blamed on emotional eating. According to Women Today magazine, it has been estimated that as much as 75 percent of overeating is attributed to the emotions.
For a number of people, overeating stems from anxiety. For instance, if you find yourself consuming an entire bag of potato chips, it’s possible that anxiety is the cause. While many people realize that alcohol and illegal drugs are not an antidote to anxiety, they may not understand that indulging in comfort food in order to combat anxiety can be dangerous as well.
In other cases, overeating may be the result of depression. If you feel tired, hopeless, and have lost interest in your normal activities, you may be suffering from a depressive episode. In order to deal with these uncomfortable feelings, people may turn to food in an effort to cheer up. The problem is that the food can lead to weight gain, which can lead to further depression.
At times, overeating may be a symptom of boredom. An individual may figure that he or she has nothing better to do than overeat. This can be particularly true when one is watching television or surfing the Internet. Rather than trying to determine a cause for the boredom, an individual may just try to “fix” it by indulging in high-fat, high-calorie food.
How do you know if you are an emotional eater? Ask yourself some key questions: Do I tend to eat when I’m worried? Scared? Sad? Do I find that eating lifts my spirits? Am I spending more time eating than engaging in other activities I enjoy? Do my binges come after I’ve suffered disappointment? Am I turning to food in order to deal with the death of a loved one…a divorce…or the defeat of my favorite team? If the answers to any of these questions is “yes,” you may be overeating purely for emotional reasons.
After you’ve identified yourself as an emotional eater, you’ll need to take steps to correct your behavior. Perhaps the most effective technique is diversion. In other words, if you find yourself reaching for the cookie jar, find another activity to engage in. The answer could be taking a walk, kickboxing, or dancing. Or it could be something less physically demanding, such as needlepoint or crochet. The idea is to get your hands…and perhaps the rest of your body…moving. In time, you might find the urge to overeat subsides as you become involved with other activities.
Another effective step you can take is to identify the triggers for your emotional eating. Do you tend to binge in mid-morning, mid-afternoon, or right before bedtime? Are you snacking while watching television, while at the computer, or when you’re sitting in your favorite chair? By asking yourself these questions, you can identify the time of day when you overeat, as well as the location for your binging. With this information, you can learn to re-direct your behavior to less fattening pursuits.
Yet another helpful technique is to develop a support network to help you combat overeating. The members of your support team could include your spouse, children, parents, friends, or other over-eaters. You may even consider joining a support group which specializes in helping those who engage in binge eating. If you feel the need to overeat, contact a member of your support team. Talking through your emotions could provide you with the emotional release you need, making overeating unnecessary.
If your anxiety or depression persists, consider seeing a psychotherapist. He or she can help you develop more effective coping mechanisms. If you find it difficult to talk to friends or family about your overeating, a psychotherapist can provide you with the talk therapy you need to overcome your problem.
Now you can be a confident expert on Emotional Eating. OK, maybe not an expert. But you should have something to bring to the table next time you join a discussion on Emotional Eating. |

| A Definite Answer To The Cost Of Prescriptions |
A Definite Answer To The Cost Of Prescriptions
Imagine hearing the pleas of community leaders pleading for help for their people. The people amount to millions in the nation and an unreal burden is upon the president of a small Atlanta company American Consultants Rx Inc (ACIRX).
It started out as a question in November 2004, that later turned out to be a plea." Is there anything that can help my people with their medications?" This was a question from a director over 13 mostly rural counties in Georgia. A service, entertainment and shopping online site were first enhanced at 2SPENDLESS where people could come to one site for assistance. American Consultants Rx Inc. (ACIRX) was also born as a community service project of American Consultants Inc., an agency that brokers in insurance and services across the country. It consisted of a discount prescription card program that would be donated free of charge to the heads of non-profit organizations, doctors, hospitals, churches, and even the public, and networked with over fifty thousand chain pharmacies across the U.S.
The company donated initially over 2.7 million ACIRX discount prescription cards free of charge that saved people up to 40% off of drugs and 60% off of generic drugs. One card would take care of a family and there was no expiration period. Directors of non-profit organizations, doctors, social workers, state and federal agencies, churches, etc. began ordering these cards. When ACIRX reached twenty five million orders, their only sponsor basically quit, it was too much.
Even though financial help is being sought to print and ship over 60 million ACIRX free discount cards, to over 10,000 groups, where they will be donated free of charge to the community, ACIRX made the card available at http://www.americanconsultantsrx.com . Just click on the ACIRX blue banner and download and print the free ACIRX discount card that will be honored at over 50,000 chain pharmacies. The president of ACIRX promised not to quit on these people. The project is not a cure all, but it is something... HOPE. |

| What You Need To Know About Mumps |
Mumps is a fairly contagious viral disease (although not as contagious as chickenpox) and is caused by the myxo virus; it is something that has plagued the human race for centuries.
Generally speaking, most cases of mumps are in children aged from 5 to 14 years, although cases in young adults are on the increase. Mumps is rare to be found in infants and babies.
But fortunately, with the aid of modern medicine, a mumps vaccine can now be administered - but this only protects against mumps. However, it is far more common for the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine to be given; as this immunizes the child against all 3 diseases in one go.
Symptoms of mumps:
The other most common symptoms of mumps include:
• headache • fever with high temperature • loss of appetite • swelling and pain in the patotid glands • loss of appetite • stiff neck • drowsiness • nausea and vomiting.
These symptoms are not usually serious, but mumps can cause some other serious and rare complications. These include arthritis, kidney and pancreas problems, deafness, and inflammation of the thyroid gland, inflammation of the brain (encephalitis) and meningitis. Medical treatment should be obtained immediately if there is any sign of these occurring.
It is also noted that serious complications of mumps are more common among adults than amongst younger children.
Apart from the well known symptoms of swelling to either or both sides of the cheeks and neck, mumps in adolescent males can sometimes result in the development of orchitis. This is a very painful inflammation of the testicles that can, in some rare cases, result in sterility.
Approximately 20-30% of infected people do not have any symptoms of mumps at all, and they are not even aware that they even have the disease.
Mumps is transmitted by airborne means or through direct contact with infected droplets or saliva, which are ejected from the body during coughing and sneezing.
Mumps being a virus, and like all viral diseases, mumps is not able to be treated with antibiotics. Taking paracetamol and drinking plenty of water are beneficial but avoid acidic fruit juices (lemonade, orange juice etc) as these can increase parotid pain. Normally the infection can simply be left to run its course, while the body's defences fight off the disease. Most people can expect to recover from mumps within 2 to 3 weeks.
Once you have had mumps, it is very rare that you can develop the disease again, because of the immunity your body developed while fighting off the initial attack by the disease.
Although a number of people are not keen on any form of vaccination for their children it is still the best way to avoid the childhood disease of mumps. |

| Dangers of Your Morning Shower |
You wouldn't knowingly bathe in toxins every morning, or set out to harm your lungs and sinuses, irritate your allergies and skin, or willingly increase your risk of cancer. But the fact is, chlorine and its by-products in your shower water are toxins which can damage your health.
These toxins are:
Chlorine: Added to most municipal water supplies, this disinfectant hardens arteries, destroys proteins in the body, irritates skin and sinus conditions, and aggravates asthma, allergies, and respiratory problems.
Chloroform: This powerful by-product of chlorination causes excessive free-radical formation (accelerated aging), normal cells to mutate, and cholesterol to oxidize. It's a known carcinogen!
DCA (Dichloro acetic acid): This chlorine by-product alters cholesterol metabolism and has been shown to cause liver cancer in lab animals.
MX (another chlorinated acid): Another by-product of chlorination, MX is known to cause genetic mutations that can lead to cancer growth and has been found in all chlorinated water for which it was tested.
Research indicates an increased risk for bladder and rectal cancer from drinking chlorinated water. And even though you're not drinking water in the shower, you can absorb many times more chlorine in a shower than you do by drinking the same water! Tests show that your body can absorb more chlorine as a result of a 10-minute shower than if you drank eight glasses of the same water.
How can that be? A warm shower opens up your pores, causing your skin to act like a sponge. As a result, you not only inhale the chlorine vapors, you also absorb them through your skin, directly into your bloodstream-at a rate that's up to six times higher than drinking.
Short terms risks include skin, eye or sinus irritation in some people. Long term risks include oxidation (cell and tissue aging), hardened arteries, increased risk of cancer, and hardened arteries. In addition, if you suffer from any of the following, chlorinated water can make your condition worse:
asthma sinus conditions allergies skin rashes emphysema
The good news is that showering in chlorine-treated water is a risk you can erase immediately, through the use of a proper shower filter. Be sure to choose a shower filter with KDF medium, a powerful chlorine absorbant.
According to Dr. Francis T. Mayo, Director of the Municipal Environmental Research Laboratory, "Since chlorine is required by public health regulations to be present in all public drinking water supplies, it is up to the individual to remove it at the point-of-use in the home." |
